Metode of Testing

1.      Requirements For Acceptance
If as to the immersion delamination test, boiling water soak delamination test, vacuum/pressure treatment test, block shear test and surface check resistance test, the number of test pieces cut out from the sample laminated number extracted from a lot and as to the moisture content test and bending test, the number of pieces of the sample laminated timber extracted from a lot which is conformrd to the criteria of the relevant test exceeds 90% of the total number of test pieces or the total number of pieces of sample laminated timber, the laminated timber of the lot concerned shall be accepted regarding to the relevant test, and if the number is less than 70%, rejected. In case that the number conformed to the criteria is not less than 70% and less than 90%, re-testings shall be conducted using the sample laminated timber freshly extracted from the lot concerned. And if the number conformed exceeds 90%, accepted regarding the relevant test. And if less than 90%, rejected.

2.      Metode of Testing
·        Immersion Delamination Test
A.     Preparation of test piece
Three (3) test pieces with a length of 75 mmand with a cross section of the end left as it is shall be prepared from each sample laminated timber.
B.     Method of Testing
Test pieces, after immersed in water room temperature (10°C~25°C) for 6 hours, shall be dried in a thermostatic drier for 18 hours or longer at a temperature of 40±3°C  (in the case of decoratve glued laminated posts {except decorative veneer), 70±3°C} paying attention not to be stuffy with moisture in the dryer and the moisture content of test pieces after drying shall be made below the moisture content before testing.
C.     Standard Requirements For Test Pieces
The length of delamination not shorter than 3 mm on both ends shall be measured, and the ratio of delamination on both ends shall be not more than 10%, {in the case of decorative structural glued laminated posts (exept decorayive veneer), 5%}, and the length of delamination on any glue line shall be not more than 1/3 of the length of the glue line {in the case of decorative glued laminated posts (except decorative veneer). ¼}

(Note) The ratio of delamination shall be calculated by the equation below

Total of the length of delaminations on both ends
Ratio of delamination (%) =          ------------------------------------------------------x 100
Total length of glue line on both ends
